We believe our children and youth are not only the future of the church: They are vital to the church of today.

Crossroads Youth Ministry

Crossroads

... A real place.

Crossroads is a place of REAL love and REAL relationships. It’s a REAL safe space, a place where you can discover who you REALLY are, that you can make a REAL difference in the world, and that you REALLY belong, no matter what.

Do you have to wear a certain style of clothes? NO!
Do you have to go to a specific school? NO!
Do you have to have a certain amount of money? NO!
Do you have to have the right amount of friends or followers? NO!
So what could stop you from belonging at Crossroads? NOTHING!

Crossroads is a REAL place because it’s a place all about God’s REAL love.

Midweek

Youth Group

Whether you have been a part of the church your entire life, or have never stepped foot in a church, Crossroads is a REAL place for you too.

We are about building relationships and pointing students to Jesus. We do this at youth group through relevant Biblical teaching, committed adult mentors (Shepherds), sharing dinner each week, connecting in small groups, music, games, serving, leadership training, retreats, mission trips, and more.

Sundays

Sunday School

6th - 12th Grade
Our Sunday School program, beginning its 213th year, is the longest continually run Sunday school in rural America. But, we are far from old and stodgy! We are continually reevaluating our program to bring lessons to our children & youth which are informative, insightful, inventive, and relevant. Run by devoted volunteers, it is provided free of charge to all in our community!

Sunday School for grades 6-12 meets weekly from 9:45 - 10:45am at Crossroads.
Students are invited to join us at 9:30 for bagels.

Confirmation Class

9th Grade
Confirmation at the Allentown Presbyterian Church is designed for students in 9th grade or above and meets on Sunday mornings from 9:45 - 10:45am at Crossroads.

The word confirm, comes from the Latin word confirmare, which means “to strengthen.” It is our prayer that spending time in Confirmation class will strengthen not only a student’s faith in Jesus Christ but also their desire to become active in the life of the Allentown Presbyterian Church. According to Big God Big Questions; Confirmation for a Growing Faith, Confirmation is "an act of covenant renewal" that includes 3 parts:

  1. God confirms a youth’s baptismal identity as a child of God
  2. The youth confirms their faith in Jesus Christ and the teachings of the church
  3. Emphasize that Confirmation is not graduation from church, but a step in their faith journey and the entry point into full participation at APC.

Our focus on preparing youth for Confirmation (part 2) will happen on Sunday mornings with these three goals in mind: 1) provide rich spiritual soil to nourish a personal relationship with God; 2) offer lessons that bring out a student’s voice, faith, experience; 3) emphasize that Confirmation is not graduation from church, but the entry point into full participation at APC.
