National Missions

We wholeheartedly serve in the name of Jesus:
We share the burdens of others in our midst and around the world.

Intergenerational Maine Mission Trip

Every other summer we head north to do home improvement and repair for impoverished families in Maine. When you think of Maine, beautiful rocky coasts or rolling green mountains might come to mind, but rural poverty is a serious concern there.

In addition to working together, we share family style meals, fun, fellowship, and devotion time each day. There is VBS throughout the week for children and we gather together in the evenings to give thanks and worship.

Whether you are a high school student, a young family, or a retiree, construction savvy, or have never held a hammer, there’s a place for you! We encourage you to pray about joining us for the July 2025 trip. Ask someone who has gone, it just might be the best week of your life!

Beth-El Farmworkers Ministry

APC entered into a relationship with Beth-El Farmworkers Ministry in Wimauma, FL in the fall of 2022 by providing them both emergency hurricane damage relief and ongoing program support funds to help the hundreds of seasonal workers who earn an average annual income of $16,000. Beth El’s hunger programs distribute weekly food boxes, serve warm lunches and give out non-perishable goods and hygiene kits to workers in the fields. For over 45 years, Beth-El Farmworker Ministries has served vulnerable farmworker communities through a free dental clinic, educational and language programs, scholarships, and health and social justice advocacy. PC (USA) Disaster Assistance

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance enables congregations and mission partners of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A) to witness to the healing love of Christ through caring for communities adversely affected by crisis and catastrophic event. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is the emergency and refugee program of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. The core budget, including staff and administrative costs, is funded through the One Great Hour of Sharing, and its program work is additionally funded through designated gifts.

Presbytery and Mission Co-workers

We continue to support our local Presbytery of the Coastlands. This year funds were again designated for Camp Johnsonburg. APC also continues to allocate funds for PC-USA mission co-workers, Rev. Cheryl Barnes in Africa and Leslie Vogel in Central America. Our committee works to support each of our church missions and to encourage both participation and leadership in our congregation. Our ministries and partnerships continue to evolve and expand to meet changing needs of those in our local community and in the world at large. APC is truly blessed by the generosity of our members who give not only financial support but also their time and talents.
