Sermon: “God’s Own People”
Scripture: Exodus 19:3-6
Preacher: Rev. Lindsay Anderson-Beck
Who are you when the labels of the world fall away? When uncertainty strikes, humans often build counterfeit idols out of success, approval, or control to settle inner fears. Yet God answers human failure not by walking away, but by revealing His boundless mercy and steadfast love. Discover how Jesus secures our true calling as God’s treasured people. Listen now to discover your true identity and find freedom in His grace! #ChristianFaith #BiblicalIdentity #Exodus #GraceAndMercy #FaithJourney
FAITHWORK ASSIGNMENT:
Take time to sit quietly and examine the sentences and labels that have shaped your view of yourself over the years. Notice the areas where fear, doubt, or the need for control cause you to rely on modern idols like career status, financial security, or the approval of others instead of resting in God. Write down the counterfeit gods you tend to reach for when life feels overwhelming, and place those honest struggles before the Lord. Read First Peter chapter 2, verse 9, and write out God’s declaration over you as His chosen and treasured possession. Post that truth on your bathroom mirror, refrigerator, or car dashboard to actively guide your thoughts, reminding yourself throughout each day that your identity rests securely in Jesus Christ and His steadfast love.
SERMON SERIES
Have you ever wanted to read the Bible? Or wondered what it's really all about? Here's your chance. Beginning September 20th, we are reading through the narrative of Scripture together, as one church family, over one year. "The Story" is the Bible's own text, arranged in 31 easy-to-read chapters (with some sections edited or summarized) that let the grand sweep of the narrative shine through – from creation, through Moses and David, to the Messiah Jesus and the birth of the Church.
