What is the kingdom of God like? In this sermon, Isaac Meerleo explores Jesus's profound question from Luke 13:18-21. Using the parables of the mustard seed and the yeast, we are reminded that God's kingdom often starts small and works its way through everything. It is not always a grand, observable event but is present in the midst of us, breaking into the world through Jesus and our faithful response to His call. This message encourages us to recognize God's reign in the ordinary, everyday acts of love and service, and to participate in helping it grow.

Faithwork Assignment:

Reflect on how the kingdom of God begins with something as small and seemingly insignificant as a mustard seed. Consider where you can look for God's work in the small, everyday moments of your life. Think about how, like yeast in dough, God's presence can work through you to bring transformation. In what area of your life is God inviting you to be a presence for good? Finally, remember that you are called to join Christ in building His kingdom through faithful acts of love and service, and identify how you have experienced or participated in this kingdom recently.

Jesus was a rabbi, a teacher. One of the most impactful ways to teach is to ask great questions. Jesus asked great questions - lots of them. By one count there are over 40 questions asked by Jesus. Questions invite students to think and grow. Join us this summer at APC as we wrestle with some of the probing questions asked by the Master teacher-Jesus.
