The mission of the Allentown Presbyterian Church is to grow mature disciples for Jesus Christ through the grace of God. The mission of the children’s ministry is to educate, inspire, and otherwise assist children as they begin their journey to a meaningful, spiritual, and mature relationship with Jesus Christ.
One program offered to children to assist in this venture is ROCK: Rock On Christian Kids!
R.O.C.K. provides an opportunity for children to build and strengthen friendships with other Christians making church feel like a friendly, comfortable place to be and encouraging a life-long participation in the Christian community.
R.O.C.K. is a fellowship program for children in 3rd-5th grade. From September through May, we gather from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday evening to share fun and friendship while playing games, making crafts, learning a Bible lesson, eating, and, either singing or working on service projects!
During the last hour of the evening, our kids divide into two groups and participate for the session as either a Choir Kid or a Caring Kid…
Our CHOIR KIDS learn fun and contemporary worship songs and learn about and prepare to lead worship. In the Spring, the choir kids present the annual church worship musical.
Our CARING KIDS learn about service and mission opportunities on local, national, and international levels. They develop a sense of empathy, generosity, and learn the value of teamwork.
ROCK is open to all children in Grades 3-5 regardless of church affiliation.
Our Fall session runs from September through December. Our Winter/Spring session runs from January to May. The program is run such that it is easy for children to come and join us at any time during the year!
There is a fee of $65 per session to cover costs related to meals and crafts. However, we never want a child to miss an opportunity to participate due to finances. Scholarships are readily available. Here’s a link to the ROCK Registration form: 2017-2018 Registration Form
